Laphroaig The Wall Collection Rope Edition is a 39 year old Islay single malt, distilled in 1984 and bottled in 2023 at 42.4%. Only 200 bottles were released in this series celebrating the wall of Warehouse No.1. The whisky matured in Oloroso sherry-seasoned European oak hogsheads, then was finished in a Pedro Ximénez sherry-seasoned European oak butt. Each bottle is hand-painted by British artist Laura Carlin in the green paint used on the distillery wall lettering, and the rope motif refers to the puffer boats that carried sherry casks to Islay. Spiced toffee, soft peat and leather on the nose give way to treacle toffee, candied orange and hazelnut, ending in a long, smoky finish.

Tasting Notes

Palate

Finish

Long and smoky, with smoked orange, soft oak tannins and warming spice

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
