Ledaig 10 Year Old (46.3%)

Ledaig is the peated single malt made at Tobermory Distillery on the Isle of Mull, and this one is a 10 year old bottled at 46.3% ABV. It is distilled on the same pot stills as the unpeated Tobermory, but from peated barley. Ledaig was once one of the distillery's earlier names. The smoke is described as earthy and almost medicinal, with fresh fruit and crushed spice beneath. The nose is light and balanced, with soft peat, gentle smoke, barley, malt extract, walnut, pine oil and a hint of iodine. The palate is medium-bodied and rich, with spice and smoke above charred oak and a touch of black pepper. The finish is medium in length, slightly smoky and spicy.
