This is a single cask Ledaig from Mull, bottled by Douglas Laing as part of its Old Particular range. It was distilled in May 2001 and bottled in June 2015 at 46.3% ABV, and 330 bottles came from one refill hogshead. Ledaig is the heavily peated style made at the Mull distillery, and this cask shows it plainly. The nose is intensely peaty, with soft warm tar and a beachy, maritime quality. On the palate come soft, earthy peat, beaten barley, coal dust and soot. The finish is long, the flavours merging into a softer, more subtle style.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
