This is an 18-year-old Ledaig, the smoky single malt made at the Tobermory distillery on Mull. It was distilled on 3 February 2005 and bottled on 5 June 2023 from a single bourbon barrel, ASB #80, giving 249 bottles at 53.5% ABV. The Single Malts of Scotland released it without chill-filtration or added colour. It is heavily peated. The nose combines damp forest floor and moss with intense wood smoke, resinous notes and a suggestion of tarred rope. On the palate dark chocolate and mineral spice sit with spicy smoke and earthy bitterness, and the long finish carries ash, tar, roasted coffee and liquorice.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
