Ledaig 1973 is a 32 year old single malt from the Isle of Mull, bottled in 2005 by Chieftain's Choice (Ian Macleod). It matured in a hogshead and was bottled straight from the cask at 53%, with 114 bottles filled. The peat level is very high, as found only in old Ledaig distilled between 1972 and 1975. The colour is light golden mahogany. The nose is powerful and muscular, with good sweetness, light smoke and salt. The palate is oily and lasting, with peat, salt and a little orange, easing towards oak, gentle sherry sweetness and, above all, peat.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
