A 30-year-old Island single malt from Ledaig, distilled in 1993 and bottled in 2024 by Gordon & MacPhail for its Connoisseurs Choice range. It comes from a single refill sherry butt and fills 381 bottles, each in a 70cl bottle.
The Connoisseurs Choice series bottles individually selected casks to show the character of the distillery and the influence of the cask. Here the nose offers subtle leather, vanilla fudge, dried apricot and light citrus. The palate is smooth yet spicy, with red apple, butterscotch, dried tobacco, black pepper, charred oak and aniseed. The finish is medium, with peach giving way to lingering peppermint.
