Ledaig – Bordeaux Red Wine Cask Matured 2012 9 Year Old (70cl, 56.8%)

This is a 9 year old peated Ledaig, fully matured in Bordeaux red wine casks and bottled at a cask strength of 56.8% in a 70cl bottle. It is a small batch limited edition, non-chill filtered and of natural colour, with a bronze hue. The nose is smoked fudge, eucalyptus oil and carbolic soap. On the palate there is burning heather and pine cones, grape skins and melon, and wood-smoked meats. As the smoke drifts away in the finish, floral notes develop, followed by lime pastilles.
