This is an 11 year old Speyside Linkwood, distilled in 2013 and released by the independent bottler Dram Mor to mark its 5th anniversary. It was matured in a single refill French oak Oloroso cask that previously held Caol Ila, and 325 bottles were filled at 54.8% ABV in a 70cl size.
The ex-Caol Ila cask gives this light Speyside malt a lightly peated character.
The nose is described as rich and surprisingly smoky, with funky fruits. On the palate the fruit wraps around warming oak spice before cigar ash appears. The finish carries more cigar ash along with Oloroso sherry spices.
