A limited edition Speyside single malt from Linkwood, distilled in 2008 and bottled by the Scotch Malt Whisky Society at 15 years old and 58.4% ABV, in a 70cl bottle. It was released for the Spirit of Speyside Festival in 2024 as part of the Cross Atlantic Destinations rare release.
The whisky matured in Oloroso and PX hogsheads, combined for this bottling.
The nose suggests new leather sandals baked on a sunlit beach, with wild fennel, limestone and thyme. The palate brings Jamaican ginger cake topped with candied rose petals and toffee, raspberry jam and browned butter. With water, toffee comes forward, joined by jasmine and dark brown sugar, then gentle oak spice, blackcurrants and cocoa powder.
