A 21 year old Speyside single malt from Linkwood, distilled in 1990 and bottled in 2011 by the Scotch Malt Whisky Society as single cask 39.84, named Ducks and Geese. It is one of 229 bottles produced for the USA, which is why it is filled in 75cl rather than 70cl.
The nose starts with scented face cream and murraymints with a hint of fennel, and the toffee moves towards glazed duck and orange cream chocolates. The palate is rich and sweet, then dry, and the long finish has traces of tobacco. With water the nose turns fattier, with orange peel and herbs such as rosemary, basil and cardamom.
