A 26 year old Linkwood from Speyside, distilled in 1990 and bottled in 2016 by the Scotch Malt Whisky Society at 58.8% ABV. It comes from a single bourbon cask, 39.135 in the Society's code, which gave 186 bottles in 70cl.
The Society's bottling name is Magical & Heavenly.
The nose is very sweet, with the sweetness coming from wood spice rather than fruit: cinnamon, cardamom, sweet oak and a hint of cigar boxes. The palate is smooth with a little cling, showing pineapple, cinnamon, oak and a touch of lemon. The finish is camphor wood and pineapple.
