This is a 29 year old Speyside single malt from Linkwood, distilled in 1984 and bottled by the Scotch Malt Whisky Society as cask 39.93, under the name Pork Chops in Red Wine Sauce. It is bottled at 57.9% ABV, and the single cask gave 233 bottles.
These were produced for the USA, so the bottle holds 75cl rather than the usual 70cl. It is an early edition of the Society's single cask bottlings.
Linkwood stands on the edge of Elgin and was established in 1821. Its spirit is known for combining a fresh, delicate character with a thick texture, helped by very clear wort, a long fermentation and slow distillation.
