Loch Lomond – 18 Year Old (70cl, 46%)

This is an 18 year old single malt Scotch whisky from the Loch Lomond distillery in the Highlands, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It spent all 18 years maturing in oak. The flavour brings together red berries, mature oak, vegetal peat and runny honey. On the nose there are old oak furniture and tobacco, with sweeter honeyed cereal. The palate has nutty brown bread and a thin layer of blackcurrant jam, with a slight smokiness. The finish is lingering peat, noticeable without being too strong.
