This is Inchmurrin 12 year old from Loch Lomond distillery, a single malt bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It was rebranded in 2015 as part of the Inchmurrin Islands Collection, named after the largest freshwater island in the British Isles, which sits in Loch Lomond.
The whisky is drawn from three styles of cask: bourbon, refill and recharred.
The nose is creamy and sweet, with cereal, allspice, toffee apple, pear drops, caramel and a touch of furniture polish. The palate has barley malt and salt caramel, with dried herbs, candied peel and allspice. The finish is medium to long and spicy.
