Lochside – 1964/2024 60 Year Old (Duncan Taylor) (70cl, 45.3%)

This is a 60 year old single malt from Lochside, the distillery that closed in 1992. Duncan Taylor bottled it at 45.3%, having distilled it in 1964 and bottled it in 2024. After six decades in cask, the whisky is described as an elegant balance of ripe fruit, spice and long-integrated oak. The nose offers ripe tropical fruit, honey and vanilla alongside leather, herbs and polished oak. The palate is silky, with yellow fruit, dried fruit, caramel, nuts and well-integrated wood. The finish is exceptionally long, dry and elegant, with fruit, spice and old oak.
