A single cask Lochside distilled in 1981 and bottled in 2021 by Gordon & MacPhail at 40 years old. It was released late in 2022 as one of the first bottlings in the Recollection series, which showcases Scotland's lost distilleries. Lochside closed in 1992. It came from a single refill sherry hogshead, bottled at a natural cask strength of 49.2% ABV without colouring or chill filtration, and yielded 141 bottles. The nose offers rich sherry, mandarin peel, salted almonds and raspberry compote. On the palate, roasted coffee beans lead to walnuts, stewed raisins, blackcurrant jam and Seville orange peel. The finish is long, with hazelnuts and cocoa powder.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
