This is a Highland single malt from Lochside, distilled in 1981 and bottled by Gordon & MacPhail for their Rare Old series. Lochside stopped production in 1992 and the distillery has since been demolished. The spirit matured for around seventeen years in refill casks selected by Gordon & MacPhail. Refill wood leaves little oak influence, so the whisky shows the distillery's soft, malty and gently fruity character, with a cereal note running through it.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
