A 31-year-old Highland single malt distilled at Lochside in 1991 and matured in a single refill bourbon barrel, cask 15194. Gordon & MacPhail bottled it on 15 February 2023 at a natural cask strength of 47.1% ABV, without chill-filtration or added colouring. It belongs to both Connoisseurs Choice and The Recollection Series #2.
Only 57 bottles came from the cask. Each is individually numbered and comes in a wooden box.
The nose opens with mild vanilla, then waxy lemon peel, dried exotic fruit and a touch of ginger. The palate is sweet and fruity, with peach and passion fruit followed by liquorice, blackcurrant and pepper. The finish is medium in length, with subtle herbal notes.
