A 41-year-old single malt from Lochside, a distillery that has since closed. It was distilled on 2 May 1981, matured in a refill sherry hogshead, number 804, and bottled in February 2023 at 46.7% ABV by Gordon & MacPhail. It forms part of the Private Collection and is Recollection Series #2.
The nose brings pineapple and ripe apple with raisins and cinnamon, and a touch of chocolate. On the palate, ripe berries and dates meet creamy caramel and oak spice, with more cinnamon and raisins. The finish carries long berry flavours and balanced oak spice.
