Lough Ree The Bridge Ballykilcavan No.2 6 Year Old Single Malt (43%)

This is a 6 year old double distilled Irish single malt from Great Northern Distillery, bottled at 43% as a limited edition. It spent 5 years and 11 months in a first-fill Bourbon cask, then 3 months in a second-fill ex-Laphroaig cask that had previously held Ballykilcavan's Bambrick's Brown Ale Islay Cask limited edition. The nose offers milk chocolate, malt loaf and juicy barmbrack raisins. The palate is sweet and fruity with dark chilli chocolate and an earthy peat kick, savoury and almost like a mild blue cheese. The finish is long, earthy and spicy.
