Macallan Elegancia is a 12 year old single malt from Speyside, in a 1 litre bottle at 40% abv. This older edition dates from the early 1990s and was bottled for the travel retail market.
It was matured in a combination of Oloroso and Fino sherry casks.
The nose brings sherry, spice, Christmas cake, chocolate, cinnamon and kirsch, with tropical and sugared fruits. On the palate there is more spice and sweetness, with sherry, dark fruits and chocolate. The finish is not very long and drying, with fruit, salty caramel and light coffee.
