Macallan Elegancia is a 12 year old Speyside single malt in a 1 litre bottle, bottled at 40% abv. This is an older edition from the early 1990s, made for the travel retail market.
The whisky was matured for 12 years in a combination of Oloroso and Fino sherry casks.
The nose brings sherry, spice, Christmas cake, chocolate, cinnamon and kirsch, along with tropical and sugared fruits. On the palate there is more spice and sweetness, with dark fruit and chocolate. The finish is not long and dry, with fruit, salty caramel and light coffee.
