This is a Macallan single malt from Speyside, distilled in 1980 and bottled by the distillery in 1998 after 18 years in cask. It comes in a 75cl bottle at 43% ABV and was matured in sherry casks.
The nose offers bright citrus zest, dried apricots, ripe berries with cinnamon and a hint of fresh peppermint, with rich oak from the sherry casks. The palate is velvety, with dark chocolate, candied orange peel, a little nutmeg and honey. The finish carries lingering spice, warm toffee sweetness and a gentle, oaky warmth.
