This is a single malt from The Macallan, distilled in 1967 and matured for more than fifty years in sherry-seasoned European oak. It is bottled at its natural colour at 46.7% ABV in a 750ml bottle. Down to Work is the thirteenth release in the Anecdotes of Ages Collection, the third collaboration between The Macallan and the artist Sir Peter Blake. This limited edition of 322 bottles carries a digital replica of the label, and comes in a European oak box with a green leather book of all 13 label artworks. The label tells of George Harbinson choosing sherry-seasoned oak over cheaper ex-bourbon casks in the 1970s. The nose offers antique oak, dried fruit and fig, with pineapple, mango and chocolate strawberry. The palate brings warm chocolate, nutmeg, ginger and a burst of strawberry and hazelnut. The finish is medium to long, with chocolate, sweet oak and lightly spiced peach.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
