This is an 18 year old single malt from Macallan, matured in a combination of European and American oak casks. It is the 2023 release of the Double Cask 18 and is amber honey in colour.
The nose brings dried fruit and toffee with candied citrus peel, ginger and nutmeg. On the palate there are raisin, sultana and dried apricot, with treacle toffee, vanilla and ginger, then toasted wood spice and baked apple. The finish is long, with warm oak and citrus.
