A 25 year old Macallan distilled in 1952 and issued in 1977 to mark Elizabeth II's silver jubilee. The colour is amber to bronze.
The nose has fino-like notes, walnuts, leather, tobacco, menthol and eucalyptus, with touches of almond and even a hint of curry. The palate is big, with menthol and peat, cough lozenges, chartreuse, aniseed, marzipan and crystallised oranges.
The finish is long, with pine sap, eucalyptus drops, After Eights, mint and fir honeydew.
