This is the 2024 release of Macallan Classic Cut, the eighth edition in the series. It is a single malt from Speyside, bottled at 52.4% ABV, the strength chosen by the whisky maker.
The whisky was matured in a combination of sherry-seasoned European and American oak and ex-bourbon casks.
The nose is described as rich vanilla, citrus peel and sweet oak, opening into baked custard and sweet green apple. On the palate come creamy vanilla, ripe red pears and a touch of nutmeg, followed by a long finish of sweetness and warmth.
