Macallan Diamonds Are Forever is an 18 year old Speyside single malt, a 55th anniversary release inspired by the James Bond film Diamonds Are Forever. It was matured in sherry seasoned oak casks, red wine seasoned American oak casks and hybrid sherry seasoned casks that combine European and American oak staves.
Its colour is described as Nevada rock, echoing the desert sandstone in the story behind the release. A script is printed on the inside back label and is revealed as the whisky is drunk.
The nose has polished oak, vanilla and dried fruits. The palate shows caramel, cocoa-dusted truffles and a hint of nutmeg. The finish is long.
