This is a 12 year old Speyside single malt from Macallan, bottled at 40%. It was matured entirely in sherry casks: American oak casks filled with sherry and then used for the whisky, alongside traditional sherry casks made from European oak.
The nose is creamy and sweet, with butterscotch, candied orange, apple, vanilla and oak. The palate is balanced and spicy, with honey, citrus, raisins and caramel. The finish is long, warming and dry, with sweet notes.
