Macallan – Edition No. 4 (70cl, 48.4%)

Edition No. 4 is a limited release from Macallan, put together from a selection of oak cask styles and released in 2018. It is bottled at 48.4% in a 70cl bottle, and the colour is burnished copper. The edition draws on the craftsmanship and design of the new Macallan distillery and on whisky making on the estate since 1824. The nose is honey and sweet apple with orange zest, ginger and nutmeg, ending on polished oak. The palate opens with nutmeg, wood spices and green cloves, settling to sweet vanilla. The finish is fruity with oaky sweetness, long and lasting.
