Macallan Harmony Collection Vibrant Oak (75cl, 44.2%)

Vibrant Oak is a Speyside single malt from The Macallan, part of its Harmony Collection, a series that looks at the relationship between wood and whisky. It is bottled at 44.2% in a 75cl bottle. The whisky is matured in first-fill sherry-seasoned American oak casks together with refill sherry casks, which gives it a creamy, vanilla-led character. The nose is of vanilla bean, sherbet and lime zest, with pear and vanilla sponge. On the palate come vanilla panna cotta, shortbread, toasted coconut and almond brittle. The finish is medium and sweet, with lingering vanilla fading into soft oak.
