This Macduff was distilled in 1997 and bottled in 2024 by Murray McDavid, at 26 years old and 47.9%, in a 70cl bottle. Macduff stands on the River Deveron and is known for tall stills with angled lyne arms.
It was first matured in first-fill bourbon casks, then finished for six years in Oloroso sherry and Pauillac red wine casks. It belongs to the Mission Gold series.
The nose combines apricots, raisins and sultanas with sweet pastry. The palate shows dried fruit, mulled wine, wax, malt and black tea, and the finish is long, with oak, dried orange and warm cloves.
