MacNair's 12 Years Lum Reek Blended Peated Malt Scotch Whisky

MacNair's Lum Reek 12 Years is a blended peated malt, the newest creation from Billy Walker. Heavily peated Islay and Speyside malts are married with GlenAllachie whisky and filled into selected casks, which mature at GlenAllachie until the final selection is blended. It is neither coloured nor chill-filtered. The name comes from a Hogmanay toast, 'Lang may yer lum reek', which wishes someone a long and healthy life and literally means 'long may your chimney smoke'. The colour is copper. The nose offers sweet peat smoke with butterscotch and mocha. The palate is rich with peat smoke, ripe heather, bog myrtle, toffee and sweet spices, and the finish is medium in length, smoky, with a light note of ash.
