MacNair's Lum Reek 10 Year Old is a Scotch blended malt from the first batch, bottled at a cask strength of 55.4% in a 70cl bottle. It brings together Speyside and Islay single malts, including aged GlenAllachie, in a peated blend.
The whisky spent ten years maturing, starting in ex-sherry casks from Spain, moving to ex-wine barriques and finishing in virgin oak at the GlenAllachie distillery. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colouring.
In the glass it is amber with red highlights. The nose offers earth, raisin, red fruit, smoke, oak, brandy and vanilla. The palate is slightly sweet, with chocolate, cinnamon, caramel, nuts, wood and smoke. The finish is long, with spice, caramel, banana, smoke, ginger and citrus.
