Macnair's Lum Reek 21 Year Old is a Scotch blended malt from the GlenAllachie Distillers Company, created by Billy Walker. It is built around peated Islay and Speyside whiskies, joined by GlenAllachie single malt.
The whiskies come from Oloroso, virgin oak and red wine casks, and this bottle carries an age statement of 21 years.
The nose combines elegant smoke, tobacco leaf and cedar with raisin, toffee, vanilla and plum jam. On the palate, peaches, marmalade, berries, honey and dark chocolate sit alongside old leather and a restrained earthy smoke. The finish is medium to long, ashy and spicy, with cocoa.
