Maker's Mark 46 is a wheated Kentucky straight bourbon, bottled at 47% ABV (94 proof) in a 750ml bottle.
Fully matured Maker's Mark is moved into a second barrel fitted with ten virgin seared French oak staves, stave profile number 46, and rests there through the cooler months in the limestone cellar at Loretto. The mash is corn, soft red winter wheat and malted barley. Bill Samuels Jr. developed it to bring deeper vanilla and caramel and a longer finish.
The nose is caramel, vanilla and toasted oak with baked stone fruit and baking spice. The palate is full and creamy, with dark caramel, dried fruit and cinnamon, and the finish is long and smooth with toffee, spice and soft wood.
