Maker's Mark – 46 Kentucky Bourbon (70cl)

Maker's Mark 46 is a wheated Kentucky bourbon from the Maker's Mark distillery in Loretto, in a 70cl bottle. It was the first new expression added to the range since the early 1950s. Fully matured barrels are opened and fitted with ten seared French oak staves, then spend a further nine weeks in the limestone cellar, which builds a bolder, spicier character. The nose has toffee, thick caramel and sweet spice with toasty, freshly sawn oak. The palate is creamy and soft at first, then bursts with nutmeg, cinnamon and mulled spice. The close is warming, with sweet spice lingering before turning faintly grassy.
