Maker's Mark 46 is a Kentucky straight bourbon from the Maker's Mark Distillery in Loretto, in a 750ml bottle at 47% ABV (94 proof). Bill Samuels Jr. created it in 2010.
Fully matured Maker's Mark is finished with ten seared French oak staves placed inside the barrel for a further period of ageing. The wheated mash bill is 70% corn, 16% soft red winter wheat and 14% malted barley. The bottle is sealed with hand dipped red wax, with longer drips than the standard bottling.
The nose is caramel, vanilla, toasted oak and baking spice. The palate is smooth and full, with caramel, brown sugar, vanilla, toffee, dark chocolate and gentle clove. The finish is long and warming, with caramel, oak and a final touch of spice.
