Maker's Mark – Bill's Recipe No. 46

Maker's Mark 46 is a Kentucky straight bourbon from the Star Hill Farm Distillery in Loretto, where the Samuels family established the brand in 1953. The mash uses soft red winter wheat in place of rye. Fully matured Maker's Mark is finished with ten seared French oak staves set inside the barrel for further ageing. The nose brings vanilla, baking spice and toasted oak. The palate is velvety, with caramel, dark fruit and cinnamon, and the finish is long and warming with oak spice and sweetness.
