Maker's Mark FAE-01 is a Kentucky straight bourbon from the Loretto distillery, and the spring release in the 2021 Wood Finishing Series. It is bottled at 110.6 proof (55.3%) in a 75cl bottle, non-chill-filtered.
Fully matured, cask strength Maker's Mark was finished in secondary barrels fitted with ten virgin American oak staves, seared on one side and left raw on the other, then rested in the distillery's limestone cellar. The mash bill is the usual wheated one of 70% corn, 16% red winter wheat and 14% malted barley.
The nose is big and bold, with dark fruit, leathery tobacco and rich oak. The palate is fruit forward and full.
