Mary Dowling Winter Wheat is a Kentucky straight bourbon made with a wheated mash bill and aged in toasted American oak barrels. It is bottled at 45% ABV in a 750ml bottle.
The bourbon honours Mary Dowling, a distiller who ran a distillery through Prohibition by moving operations to Mexico. Wheat takes the place of rye as the secondary grain.
The nose offers fresh-baked cornbread, vanilla cream and toasted almonds. The palate brings soft caramel, honeyed wheat, baking spices and warm cereal grain, and the finish is long and mellow with marshmallow, oak and a touch of citrus zest.
