Mary Dowling Tequila Barrel Finish Straight Bourbon is a Kentucky straight bourbon finished in Reposado tequila barrels, bottled at 46.5% ABV in a 75cl bottle. Kaveh Zamanian, founder of Rabbit Hole Distillery in Louisville, created the Mary Dowling brand.
The mash bill is 70% corn, 25% malted rye and 5% malted barley. The bourbon matures for at least three years in new American oak before moving to the finishing barrels, which previously held sherry, Oloroso sherry and Vin Doux Naturel.
The nose has vanilla, tobacco leaf, cedar and allspice. The palate brings orange, grapefruit, honey, cinnamon and smoke, and the finish is medium-long, with black pepper, baking spice and agave.
