Meikle Toir The Chinquapin One is a Scotch single malt peated to 35 PPM. The barley was kilned with mainland peat from St. Fergus, which gives a sweeter style of smoke.
Fermentation runs for 160 hours, and the resulting whisky has a complex character that stands up well to ageing in virgin oak casks.
The nose brings smouldering oak embers, burnt liquorice and honey, with ginger, butterscotch and orange peel. On the palate come cocoa, crème brûlée and toasted almonds, with cinnamon, aniseed and campfire smoke.
