Mercurey Rouge Champ Ladoy 2021

A red wine from Mercurey, made by Domaine Belleville. The Pinot Noir comes from two parcels in the Champ Ladoy lieu-dit, planted with 45-year-old vines on north- and east-facing slopes. The parcels are harvested on two different dates, and the wine is fermented in large upright wooden vats, with malolactic fermentation and 12 months' ageing in 228-litre casks, 30% new. The wine is ruby red with purple tints, with dark berry, blueberry, blackberry, vanilla and wood on the nose, a fruity and immediate palate gaining depth, and a round, elegant finish with velvety tannins and lightly spicy notes.
