Metté Abricot is an apricot eau-de-vie from the Distillerie Metté in Ribeauvillé, Alsace, in a 50cl bottle. It is made from apricots selected for their ripeness and concentration of flavour.
After a controlled fermentation the fruit is distilled slowly in copper stills, and the spirit is then rested in stainless steel tanks to keep the purity of the fruit.
The nose is ripe apricot with stone fruit, white flowers and a subtle hint of almond. The palate is supple and fresh, with clear apricot flavour. The finish is long and persistent, with the fruit and a light almond note.
