Metté Eau de Vie d'Alisier (50cl)

This is an alisier eau-de-vie from Distillerie Metté in Ribeauvillé, Alsace, in a 50cl bottle. It is made from wild berries picked in autumn, macerated and then distilled once in a copper pot still. It is not cold-filtered and is aged in stainless steel tank to keep its aromas pure and fine. The nose is expressive, with sweet almond, morello cherry and marzipan. The palate is fruity and dry, with stone fruit, sweet almond and a delicate touch of violet. The finish is long, with a slight spiciness. It is served neat at around 13°C in a tulip glass.
