Metté Eau de Vie Reine des Bois (Aspérule Odorante) (50cl)

Metté Reine des Bois is an eau de vie made from woodruff, known in French as aspérule odorante, a wild plant with delicate aromas. It comes from Distillerie Metté in Ribeauvillé, Alsace, run by Nathalie and Philippe Traber. The plant is macerated to draw out its green notes, then distilled in copper stills by the house's traditional methods and aged to keep its aromatic purity. The nose is fresh hay, wild herbs, vanilla and sweet almond. The palate is delicate and supple, with a fine plant character and gently spiced, gourmand notes. The finish is long and soft, with a pleasant green freshness.
