Metté Liqueur de Fraise des Bois (50cl, 25%)

This is a wild strawberry liqueur from the Metté distillery in Alsace, made by hand in the traditional way. Whole wild strawberries are macerated naturally, with no artificial flavourings or colourings. It is sweetened with cane sugar and is not cold-filtered, which keeps the aromatic richness and texture of the fruit. It comes in a 50cl bottle at 25% vol. The nose is intense with fresh wild strawberries and a hint of jam. The palate is soft and balanced, with fresh fruit against a fine sweetness. The finish is persistent, with pure fruit and a little liveliness.
