Micil – Earls Island Single Pot Still (2022) (70cl, 46%)

Earls Island is a single pot still Irish whiskey from Micil, the Galway distillery. It is triple distilled and comes from batch 01/22, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle with natural colour and without chill filtration. The whiskey is finished in Bordeaux wine casks together with ex-peated quarter casks, which adds fruit and spice with a gentle note of smoke. The nose offers rich red fruits, light wine notes, spices, soft vanilla and a hint of peat smoke. On the palate come red berries, cocoa, light tannins and a little smoke. The finish is warm and spicy, medium-long, with soft wood smoke and wine sweetness.
