Micil Inverin is an Irish whiskey blend from Micil Distillery in Galway, bottled at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It is non-chill-filtered and free of added colouring.
The blend is matured further in three kinds of cask: re-charred ex-bourbon quarter casks, Pedro Ximénez casks and small octave casks that previously held peated Micil poitín. The first batch combined grain whiskey, peated and unpeated malt and a little pot still whiskey. The style draws on the distilling tradition of Inverin in Connemara.
Peat and charred-wood smoke meet baked apples and pears, with vanilla and honey sweetness, pink pepper, smoked bacon and cloves. The finish is long.
